June Newsletter

The AGM for The Moorland Mousie Trust and the Exmoor Pony Centre was held on Friday 4th July in the Green Room and was well attended by interested parties. The formal part of the meeting was followed by an interesting discussion which covered many aspects of the work that we do.

A fund-raising Concert was held at Winsford on 6th July with a delightful performance by the High Park Music School Orchestra, including music from Abba and Queen; cream teas were provided afterwards along with the opportunity to meet one of our ponies and a good time was had by all.

Our usual Cream Tea afternoons will start on Thursday 31st July and continue each Thursday through August from 1:00 till 4:00 pm namely 7th, 14th, 21st and 28th. There will be crafts and activities for children as well as pony rides and the chance to groom a pony and of course delicious refreshments.

The Exmoor Pony Festival will run from 9th to 17th August with some events at the Centre, namely the Anchor Herd Open Day on Saturday 9th, a Quiz and BBQ on Sunday 10th and an Activity Day on Thursday 14th.  Further information on these events by phone on 01398 3232093 or for full details of all Festival events please look at http://exmoorponyfestival.wordpress.com/whats-on/

Please book Taster sessions and Treks well in advance if you wish to come during the school holidays as they are very popular and the diary fills up quickly. If you have visitors staying, please advise them of the need to book these in advance although drop in visitors are welcome any day between 10:00 and 4:00 except Saturdays when we are closed to the public.

All our funds come from kind donations and occasional grants so if you can help us to Promote and Protect the rare breed Exmoor Ponies, please support us by joining our Friends Scheme, our 100 Club, by texting MMTX22 £5 to 70070 or by visiting the Centre and our shop.
