Working with the New Foals

The new foals are beginning to settle in to their new surroundings at the Pony Centre and are getting used to being near people and being handled.

Jimmy has come from the Anchor herd that runs on Winsford Hill near the Pony Centre and is very friendly as he was adopted and bucket-fed before coming to us.

Foal Handling Course

The first foal handling course took place on Sunday with five participants and was a great success.

The foals, all from the Anchor herd on Winsford Hill, behaved beautifully. They went through the usual routine of being touched with a feather duster, then hands, then having a head collar fitted and some had a lead rein fitted as well.

Pretty good going for foals that, until then, were virtually un-handled!
