August Newsletter

For our 8th Birthday Bash we had a lovely day and visitors enjoyed themselves with pony rides, grooming, face painting, crafts and a special appearance from Victoria Eveleigh, signing her books.

The Cream Tea afternoons are also going well with the last one due on Thursday 28th August. If you have been along, thank you for supporting us, if not then you don’t know what you are missing!

Part of our role is to encourage the use of Exmoor ponies in various different roles so some of our ponies are helping graze a number of conservation sites and others are in foster homes as companion ponies in different areas of the country. However we also have ponies out on grazing sites in many local areas; they are regularly checked by staff and volunteers but please, if there are some near you, keep an eye on the gates as there have been recent incidents of gates being left open and ponies escaping. Luckily this has not resulted in any injuries but that is always a risk so we appreciate vigilance on the part of everyone nearby, thank you. If you would like to become part of our team of volunteers and help check up on the ponies near you, please get in touch on 01398 323093.

On Thursday 30th October we will be holding our Celebrate Halloween event from 1:00 till 4:00 pm so please put it in your diaries and come along and join in the fun. But there is no need to wait that long to visit us, the Centre is open from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm every day except Saturdays and there is no charge to visit.

There will be a report next month on the Exmoor Pony Festival which has got off to a great start as I write.

Meanwhile do please support us via our website or by texting MMTX22 £5 to 70070. Thank you.
